The wedding of poker and TV has been mutually beneficial. Televised poker tournaments capture big audiences for networks, and the game's popularity seems to shoot up after each broadcast. Recently, after Full Tilt Poker.Net Pro Showdown at Red Rock aired on Fox Sports Net, sign-ups at Full Tilt Poker hit record highs for three straight days.
Over the next four months, they will hold more qualifiers, then all the winners will compete in a six-player shootout where the first place finisher will earn entry into the live televised tournament with the pros on Thanksgiving Day.
